26 November, 2008 - London, UK - Stonewood Group, the World’s leading designer and manufacturer of accredited encrypted hard drives, has announced the launch of the first ever fully encrypted, fully portable family of products for today’s mobile workforce.
In the last year alone, 29 million people have been affected by data loss from a variety of government and other public sector bodies. With the IDC predicting that the mobile workforce will reach global figures of 1 billion by 2011, and that the move towards remote and mobile working across all sectors is a predictably upward trend, businesses have to ensure that their confidential and sensitive information is properly protected.
Eclypt, Stonewood’s latest range of encrypted products offer the most advanced encryption technology available to the private sector. The Eclypt range includes: Eclypt Corporate, a direct replacement for the laptop’s standard hard drive; Eclypt Freedom, an external USB hard drive and now Eclypt Pico Freedom, a USB memory stick. Safeguarding data by integrating sophisticated, entire disk encryption and data storage into tamper-proof hardware, the Eclypt range, protects data at rest, even if the device is stolen or lost.
“Eclypt drives require no maintenance, operate independently of the operating system, are free from renewable licence fees and call for no specialist IT knowledge or training” said Chris McIntosh, Stonewood CEO. “The Eclypt range therefore offers a first class protection to businesses who truly value their data.”
Eclypt hard drives provide instant data protection without noticeable adverse effects to a computer’s performance, encrypting and decrypting the data immediately and invisibly. Available capacities for the Eclypt range span from 60GB to 120GB for Eclypt Corporate, to 320GB to 500GB for Eclypt Freedom and 1GB to 8GB for Pico Freedom.
