Communication protection provider moves to further expand in the UK

Today, phion AG, a leading European provider of communication protection solutions, announced the acquisition of its seventh channel partner. The company is now looking to further expand its channel focusing on its web application firewall (WAF) ‘phion airlock’, the only WAF on the market that covers the entire spectrum for protecting and optimising complete web environments.

phion has two indirect two-tier sales programmes, one for its traditional network security solutions (phion netfence and phion M series) and now a second focusing on the distribution of its WAF ‘phion airlock’ product.

Already a success in central Europe, phion is expanding its footprint in the UK with a steady increase in network security solution resellers. Since its UK debut in March 2008 it has recruited the likes of Software Box and Stack Computer Systems and is looking to continue its growth and recruit further UK resellers for their latest offering, ‘phion airlock’.

Wieland Alge, CEO of phion comments, “phion airlock can be provided directly to customers, partners and employees with differing authorisation levels. The combination of web applications security, single sign on and SSL-VPN access provides the best possible flexibility at the highest security level. Phion airlock grants security, flexibility and freedom from proprietary application lock-in.”

Based on the positive security model even new, still unknown attacks are prevented without having to manage countless signatures or filter rules. phion airlock centralises security tasks in the web application firewall and thus relieves the load on applications. When a new authentication process is introduced there is no need to adapt all applications individually. Critical security functions can be efficiently implemented and hidden costs and risks can be avoided by eliminating proprietary dependencies.

With nine out of ten Swiss banks already airlock users, phion forecast impressive margins for suitable resellers.
