New SCP740 delivers ideal projected images to match the latest in WXGA notebooks and popular video formats
Bracknell, UK, 1 September 2008 – Diversified technology company 3M today announced the availability of a new high brightness, WXGA projector with short throw projection technology for the corporate and education sectors. The Super Close Projection System SCP740 is the first of its kind on the market offering high quality wide screen output and comprehensive connectivity at a cost-effective price.
“This new wide screen model not only complements our existing desktop and wall-mounted range but also reaffirms our position as a pioneer in the development of short throw projection products that address evolving conference room and classroom requirements,” commented Paul Gardner, Sales and Marketing Manager, 3M’s Projection Systems division. “The SCP740 has been designed to match the increasingly bigger screen sizes of today’s laptops. This is especially useful when business presenters wish to display Excel spreadsheets and other data type applications. As wide screen interactive whiteboards become more common, wide screen short throw projectors will become increasingly important for the education sector as well.”
The SCP740 has all the benefits of DLP and BrilliantColor technology with exceptional brightness of 2600 ANSI lumens, 1600:1 contrast ratio and an image size range from 50-98 inches diagonal. Using Vikuiti Super Close Projection from 3M the SCP740 can project larger images from shorter distances (60 inch projection from 35 inches and 100 inch projection from 58.4 inches), which minimises shadowing and light in the presenter’s eyes. It has a native 16:10 aspect ratio (HDTV programming or most DVDs) and supports both 4:3 (regular) and 16:9 (wide screen) aspect ratios.
The full connectivity of the SCP740 makes it an ideal desktop media device. Features include two RGB inputs, one RGB output, RJ-45 ethernet connection, RS232 connection, +5V/2A DC power output, S-video input, DVI-D connection, RCA Audio/Video, USB port and audio output connection.
Additional SCP740 system specifications include an integrated wind tunnel for fan noise reduction. The desktop projector comes with a remote control, and is highly portable weighing only 4.5kg and measuring 14 (W) x 12.2 (D) x 5 (H) inches. It can also be mounted to a wall or ceiling using optional accessories.
Available now, the SCP740 wide screen short throw projection system from 3M costs £1,495.
